Kristen, otherwise known as Kakes, has been teaching dance fitness since 2013. She initially discovered the practice of yoga and barre and yoga after recovering from a knee surgery and with the encouragement of her sister-in-law. She quickly realized how it impacted not only her physical fitness, but also her overall mental well-being. After practicing barre for more than a year, she became a certified barre instructor through Kitty Orient’s barre training. When not found practicing or teaching in the studio, she can be found staying active by competing with Pop Ultimate – Minneapolis’ elite women’s ultimate frisbee team, boxing, or teaching preschool dance classes! As an instructor, it is Kakes’ intention to remind you of the power of your breath and to help you discover how strong you are.
